You are bidding on an EXTREAMLY RARE genuine 1965 Third Pressing of Bob Dylan Freewheelin’. This version of this album, to my knowledge, has never surfaced to any market before and could quite possibly be a sole survivor of this very scarce third press.

As many may know there are endless variations of this record. The first mono pressing with the “Blowin’ in the wind” sticker, the number of white label DJ promo variations with timing stripes and deleted tracks and the 360 Stereo in black with no arrows have all been documented in Goldmine Price Guide. And then there is of course the extremely rare( ”360 Sound Stereo” in black on label (no arrows); record plays, and label lists, “Let Me Die in My Footsteps,” “Rocks and Gravel,” “Talkin’ John Birch Blues” and “Gamblin’ Willie’s Dead Man’s Hand.” No known stereo copies play these without listing them, but just in case, check the trail-off for the numbers “XSM-58719-1A” and “XSM-58720-1A.” If the number after the dash is “2” or higher, it’s the standard version; VG value $15,000; VG+ value $22,500)

This variation seems be quite different from anything documented in Goldmine. After extensive research of this record I have found that the second pressings used the jackets with the “Stereo 360 Sound” banner. In 1965 the third pressing used the left over original mono jackets and used a white Columbia sticker in the top left corner to cover the original stamp that said Monaural-CL 1986. This sticker now states the catalogue number as being a Stereo CS 8786. On the bottom of the spine the catalogue number states CL 1986 proving this is a true genuine MONO jacket housing a stereo copy. This is a true RARE find for any Bob Dylan collector. Even after hours and hours of research I have been unable to find out why this was done or exactly how many copies used this type of sticker.

This record is in excellent condition. It belonged to my father who took very good care of all his records and it was given to me. As you can tell from the pictures the spine looks excellent very legible no rips or splits. There is no ring wear on the cover, I would grade this jacket a VG ++ to NM. The vinyl its self is also in excellent (VG++) shape no scuffs or crackles album is very glossy and plays very clear.
