Description

An original very 1st press of Greatest Hits on the UK CBS label from Q1 1967. Matrix A1/B1. Please note the labels are the very 1st "33" design which were only used right at the outset before the 1st release date. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono flipback cover. Also included is the original CBS advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and how often is it that you see a clean '33' Dylan copy that actually plays well too? Under close inspection I can only make out a few superficial marks on side 1 - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Don't underestimate this grading - original Dylan copies might look good, but rarely do they achieve this audio grading. Interference is only really vaguely noticeable in 'Blowin' In The Wind' - unfortunately due to its epic popularity Blowin' will always get more play than any other track. But we are talking 'light low-level static' - nothing invasive, or even that detrimental to the performance. All other tracks play clean and with only a few sporadic crackles in the odd spot. So, this copy is a very nice early mono copy and it has been looked after. It's a keeper that's for sure...
Cover (Vg+) Lovely clean and shiny front with barely a crease. The rear seems to have avoided the worst of the usual ageing - just a bit in places. Please note there's a record store sticker at the top middle. Edge wear is light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Nice!
Inner (Vg+) Lightest ageing and a one inch bottom edge split.
