BOB DYLAN - SELF PORTRAIT 1970 US First Pressing Radio Promotion Copy with timing strips and Promotion/Not For Sale stamp. Originally released in June 1970 as a double LP, Self Portrait marks one of the most enigmatic and discussed chapters in Bob Dylan’s expansive discography. Produced by Bob Johnston, the album presents an eclectic mixture of traditional folk covers, pop standards, original compositions, and live recordings captured at the 1969 Isle of Wight Festival alongside members of The Band. Packed with notable cuts such as "All The Tired Horses," "Wigwam," and live renditions of "Like A Rolling Stone" and "The Mighty Quinn," the double-album set remains a key piece of Dylan's turn-of-the-decade output on Columbia Records 1970 US release by Columbia, catalog # C2X 30050. Appears to be a Radio Station Promo copy with "Promotion Not For Sale" stamped in the right inner gatefold and timing strips pasted on the back cover. First pressing -- only pressing with "360 Sound" labels (instead of Columbia 1-eye labels). Think it's the textured sleeve. Pressed at Terre Haute plant. RUNOUTS: Side 1: T 1 XSM-153504-1B D 0 // Side 2: T 1 XSM-153505-1B C 7 0 // Side 3: T 1 XSM-153506-1B B 7 0 // Side 4: T 1 XSM-153507-1A C 7 0 Sleeve grades VG+. I think it's the textured cover, but I don't have a different copy to compare it to. Intact spine/seams, clean front and back. Inside gatefold is pretty much NM, has a "PROMOTION NOT FOR SALE" stamp on right inner gatefold. Ding to upper left front corner. Other corners are pretty much sharp, touch of wear over time. No real edge wear or ring wear - maybe the tiniest touch of ring wear on the upper back. Timing strips very clean and still glued down. Generic inner white sleeves (discoloration from age). Vinyl grades VG. Play testing heard some light crackle in spots and a few light pops/clicks but a mix of VG-VG+ overall. No skips or other major issues. Surface is pretty clean for a disc of its age. Side 1 has some light marks/hairlines plus one or two light scratches and a scuff mark, nothing deep enough to feel. Side 2 has some light marks/hairlines, nothing major. Side 3 has some light marks/hairlines, maybe 3 small light scratches, again nothing deep enough to feel. Side 4 has some light marks/hairlines/insertion marks. All the surface examination done under bright light and magnification.
