For sale is this UK original vinyl self-titled debut album by Bob Dylan. It contains 13 tracks (see track listing below) and is housed in a front-laminated flipback sleeve and poly-lined inner sleeve. On the CBS label, the catalogue number is BPG 62022 and the date of issue is 1962. This is a mono 1962 pressing (pressed by Philips as CBS didn't have their own UK pressing plant until late 1964) and has all of the features listed below. (Copies without RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED and with a 32 mm pressing ring are later CBS pressings).

Pressing Features

  • Philips pressing with 1L / 2L matrix numbers on labels and in run-outs (later CBS pressings have A / B matrices and date from late 1964 onwards)
  • Fully textured labels
  • "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED" label text (this was dropped in late 1964)
  • 22 mm pressing ring on the labels (later CBS pressings have a 32 mm pressing ring)
  • "33" on the labels (this was changed to "33⅓" in late 1967)
  • Side 1, Track 1 listed as She's No Good on the label (there were a very small number of copies identical to this pressing in every way except for this track title being listed as You're No Good and rumoured to be pressed slightly before this version)
  • Catalogue number printed below the CBS logo on the front cover
  • Catalogue number printed to the left of the CBS logo on the back cover
  • "CBS IS A TRADEMARK..." text at the bottom left of the back cover

Condition

The vinyl is in Very Good Plus condition. 

The textured labels are in Very Good Plus condition (Side 1) and Excellent condition (Side 2), clean and bright with clear, perfect printing and just a few light spindle marks and two tiny scuffs/surface tears by the spindle hole on Side 1 (see pics).

The front-laminated flipback cover is in Excellent condition with just a couple of light laminate creases on the front (see pic). The spine is complete with clear printing.

All vinyl records are strictly graded according to Record Collector magazine's grading system, the long established UK standard, with any specific flaws mentioned along with the grading. They are sent in custom-made mailers, with built-in or added stiffeners, and are packaged outside their sleeves to prevent edge splits. Singles without a picture sleeve will either have a plain sleeve or a correct-era original (not repro) record company sleeve (stated above). Original record company sleeves may not be the exact sleeve issued with the single so may have a different catalogue number hand-written in the corner but they will be the correct design for the single. They may have a bit of wear, writing, stickers, sticker marks etc but will be in a generally good, useable condition without edge splits or sellotape.
