this is an original, 1963 first stereo pitman pressing columbia records CS 8786, red "two-eye" nonbreakable labels with "360 sound stereo" without the arrows in black.
a small, faint "p" stamped in the runout denotes columbia records pressing plant, Pitman pressing. the number "1" printed on the very bottom back right hand corner of the jacket, monaural catalog number (CL 1986) appears on the front and back cover. the back cover liner notes mistakenly credit the accompanying musicians on the track "don't think twice, it's all right"
I have provided a lot of quality pictures, so please look at them carefully.
the front cover is really clean and very sturdy. a real beauty! there is mild wear to the corners. there are NO seam splits. the spine is wonderful. the top border has a few faint "vein" wrinkles that are hardly noticeable. the bottom border has a couple light "vein" wrinkles that are also hardly noticeable. the back cover has some very mild "toning", mainly on the left border. there are a few light "vein" wrinkles on the various borders that are again, hardly noticeable. overall, looks really nice!
the record is really clean with just some faint surface marks here and there. you'll hear just a couple "pops" here and there as well as some extremely light background noise in the quiet parts, but overall, it plays really, really nice. the inner sleeve is generic white.
NOW HERE IS THE BAD NEWS...... there appears to be some sort of a factory defect? on the song "blowin' in the wind" (see picture #13) it's not a scratch, but it causes most of the song to skip as the defect runs in circumference with most of the song. see picture number 13 and you can see a section of the defect. it was difficult to get a good picture of it, but you can definitely see it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
