Description
An original UK Mono 1st Press from spring 1964 on the CBS label using Philips plant. Matrix 1/1. Please note, importantly, that in '64 CBS were still yet to take ownership of their own plant in the UK. So, very very 1st copies of TTAAC are found with Philips pressing credentials. "V420" can be found in the deadwax and the labels are the original Philips style with 'Recording 1st Published' along with 1L/2L. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original cover. Also included is an original inner sleeve from the time. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a few light marks either side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. These early Dylan records are difficult to find playing clean, but this example acquits itself admirably. By and large a very nice and clean rendition. Only dropping marginally below Ex in a couple of spots. 'God On Our Side' is one of them and was perhaps a favourite of the original owner...but who can blame them...what a great song! But other than that expect top-level reproduction of some of Dylan's most haunting work.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. A lovely clean front without creases or marking - just a touch of ageing at the extremities. Ditto the rear. Edge wear is very light for an LP of this vintage and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and this is in part thanks to the heavy card construction employed.
Inner (Ex-) Light ageing and no splits.
