I bought this LP about 25 years ago and never played it before today. I played it today on Naim kit to grade and it's really astounding.
I have been tearing what's left of my hair out trying to grade this. The vinyl really looks EX minus. There's hairlines of course after all this time. And a smudge or two. I examined this under strong light and found nothing more than this. There are a lot of dust crackles and a light pop here and there. No skips or jumps. It might benefit from its first clean in 52 years - but I never clean LPs before selling them as it's really a matter of choice. Personally, especially in this case, I think the dust crackles add to the atmosphere. Due to the dust noise and the fact that it's hard to find an EX LP that's over 50 years old, I'll give it a VG+
I have to say the sleeve is just about as EX as you will find anywhere. No issues. It has the original price sticker on the front. No ringwear at all. No laminate lift apart from along the crease of the spine. 4 sharp corners and a crisp spine. No rips or stains or writing. It's no exaggeration to say that this sleeve looks like it came from the shop last week.
