Bob Marley & The Wailers - Uprising LP (1980 US First Pressing - Island Records ILPS 9596)
Up for sale is an authentic, original 1980 US first vinyl pressing of the monumentally influential roots reggae masterpiece "Uprising" by music legends Bob Marley & The Wailers. Produced by Bob Marley & The Wailers with Chris Blackwell, this multi-platinum landmark stands as a deeply poignant and historic statement—the final studio album released during Bob Marley's lifetime prior to his tragic passing in May 1981. Recorded at Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston, Jamaica, this spiritual masterpiece dominated global charts and delivers some of his most enduring artistic legacies, including the massive dance-reggae groove "Could You Be Loved", "Zion Train", "Coming In From The Cold", and his towering, acoustic solo masterwork, "Redemption Song".
This vintage 12" release features the highly collectible, original Island Records custom light-blue center labels cleanly showcasing the iconic white typography and the small multi-color palm tree orb emblem positioned just below the spindle hole across both sides. The center labels carry the authentic first edition tracking identifier ILPS 9596 (with matrix layout text ILPS 9596-A / ILPS 9596-B). Crucially, this copy comes housed in its original heavy custom single-pocket sleeve showcasing the legendary graphic illustration of a triumphant rasta man emerging out of a volcanic mountain horizon under a rising yellow sun. The reverse panel cleanly features full track-by-track lyrics, extensive production credits, and individual sepia-toned photographic portraits of the iconic Wailers tracking lineup: Aston "Family Man" Barrett, Carlton Barrett, Tyrone Downie, Alvin Patterson, Junior Marvin, and Earl Lindo. A must-have centerpiece crown jewel for reggae collectors, classic roots music vinyl purists, or daily analog turntable setups!
Tracklist Includes: Side 1 ("SIDE 1"): 1. Coming In From The Cold 2. Real Situation 3. Bad Card 4. We And Dem 5. Work
Side 2 ("SIDE 2"): 1. Zion Train 2. Pimper's Paradise 3. Could You Be Loved 4. Forever Loving Jah 5. Redemption Song (Definitive Acoustic Solo Version)

Condition Details: * Vinyl Record: Pre-owned vintage condition. The heavy-weight vinyl surface maintains an excellent, highly reflective black mirror gloss sheen across both sides under bright light grading inspection. The custom blue Island center labels are remarkably crisp and clean, retaining perfectly sharp fonts with no post-retail handwriting, scuff marks, or severe spindle hole wear. (Note: Vinyl is visually graded. We highly recommend giving classic vintage records a light specialized brush cleaning prior to initial playback to guarantee maximum analog audio performance.) * Album Jacket: Great vintage shape overall! This jacket sleeve has been phenomenally protected over the decades because it remains wrapped inside its original factory protective outer clear plastic cellophane cellowrap breathing sleeve. The front cover volcanic illustration and reverse text tracks retain brilliant, crisp coloration depth. Shows typical, expected honest signs of minor vintage handling, including two vintage retail price tags attached to the upper right field of the cellophane wrapper itself (one reading "$6.99" from a vintage estate store run) and minor softening traces at the exposed opening corners as captured in the photography array. Completely free of any heavy structural seam splits, surface ring wear scratches, or post-retail ink stains.
Shipped out quickly and packed with elite precision inside a heavy-duty cardboard vinyl record mailer box to preserve the jacket edges, factory cellophane wrap, and vinyl integrity perfectly during transit. Please review the high-resolution images to view the exact center labels and matrix tracking configurations before placing a bid.
