Description
I purchased this album in the secondary market advertised as excellent vinyl and a VG+ cover and following my own appraisal I agree with this. Following a light cleaning I played the album through the Grado’s and numerically I am scoring this vinyl an 80 (like a B- and let me explain why it is better than VG+, a C+). On Side 1 there are rub lines between tracks two and three (Night Moves & Fire Down Below) which results in a bit more surface noise than is typical however there was no popping, clicking or ticking relative to these marks. I looked at these things for a while and I can't really figure out what this is (I don't think it's something from the rice sleeve but who knows, I've since put the vinyl in a new Mofi sleeve). The B side showed no visible issues and played near mint however collectively I will score the vinyl within the excellent category. The front and rear cover does show light rub wear (noticeable more within the dark areas) along with wear within the top seam, bottom seam and spine and while there are no splits there are small spots where the underlying white spots (small little things visible when your really looking). The corners show nominal wear as well. Perhaps what this cover most has going for it is that the promo stamp is perfect and this all having been said numerically I score the cover a 77. Regarding shipping the album is shipped within cardboard but with the vinyl outside of the jacket inside of a Whiplash record mailer. If you have any other questions please let me know and thank you for looking!
