Description
Bolt Thrower - Realm of Chaos (Slaves to Darkness) - 1989 - Original Pressing with 8-page booklet, Gatefold Sleeve, Hype Sticker and Warhammer/Games Workshop Influenced Album Cover - Earache Records, (MOSH 13).
Some classic death-grind madness from one of the heaviest sounding death metal bands from the period. Originating from Coventry, England, Bolt Thrower helped to solidify the extreme metal movement of the late 80s.
Realm of Chaos (Slaves to Darkness) might not be perceived as their best material by hardcore fans, but is still very much in demand on the death metal collecting circuit and probably the most sought after release from their back catalogue and the Earache label.
Note: I would also like to thank everyone who has viewed, watched, bidded and given positive feedback on my previous auction listings.
Due to the continuing support and interest I have been getting recently, as a new seller, it comes with great pleasure, that I am going to list more records for sale in the future. Keep your eyes peeled for more interesting collectibles!
The album cover is in VG+ condition, but really it is much closer to EX. Due to a very small ding on the top left hand corner of the sleeve and some foxing or mottling marks inside of the gatefold sleeve, it is important to note that these are noticeable under strong room lighting and are preventing this album cover from achieving a higher grade.
On close inspection the outside of the sleeve is in fantastic condition, glossy, great colours, literally no wear, if any to the spine, seams and opening. No rips, seam splits, tears or writing of any kind to be found.
The inner sleeve is in VG condition. It suffers from a lot of creasing, seam split down the right hand side in the middle. On the rear part of the sleeve, left flip back has a small nick, I think this would have been most probably caused by someone careless. Slight foxing or mottling marks on the sleeve, nothing serious.
The 8-page booklet is VG+. Beautiful condition, but the staples are now starting to show some signs of rusting. No rips, tears or writing of any kind to be found.
The record is in VG+ condition. I have noticed some small surface marks, scuffing, minor blemishes, a few smudges on Side One label, no spindle wear, writing or tears. I have just recently play tested this record and it sounds fantastic with great dynamics and is a quiet pressing.
One more thing to mention, vinyl from this period was notoriously known for being really thin and can also have issues with warping. When I played Side One, I did notice a very, very minor edge wobble, if one would call it that, barely noticeable and not causing any issues with tracking and fidelity. Just trying to be as honest as I possibly can. I hope the photographs give this album justice.
The record has been professionally cleaned by myself on a Pro-Ject VC-S2 ALU record cleaning machine and comes supplied with a polypropylene outer sleeve for the album cover and a Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab inner sleeve for protection of the record. These sleeves are favoured among audiophiles and collectors alike for long term preservation of vinyl albums.
This package will be sent by Royal Mail. The type of delivery method is: Royal Mail Tracked 24. It will come to a total of £3.99. It is imperative for not just me, but the buyer to have a delivery service with tracking, so we can both make sure the record arrives promptly and safely. It is a small price to pay to avoid any major upset about a missing package.
I will be using a strong mailer with stiffeners and a fragile sticker to ensure that everything is safe and secure before dispatch. The record will be removed from its sleeve and placed behind it to avoid any potential seam splits during transit. This all comes free of charge.
If you have any questions about the item, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Happy bidding to everyone!
