Description

For sale is a vinyl record by Boney M. titled "Nightflight To Venus", originally released in 1978 by Sire Records as a promotional copy with a gate-fold presentation, indicated by a gold stamp on the front cover. In the dead wax between the labelsand the last tracks is etched "Sterling" followed by the matrix numbers LW-2/LW-1 and what appears to be a six pointed star. All these etchings signify that the record was mastered at Sterling Sound, New York City, New York, before an early stamper was used to make this record at Capitol Records pressing plant located in Los Angeles, California. These are all hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering with superior sound quality sought after by collectors and music lovers. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it away into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as Very Good Plus because of stress cracks along the top seam, ring wear, edge rubs and corner blunts . The spine has color loss at the corners from these blunts and along the edges from rubs. Since my turntable is out of commision, I'm visually grading this record as Near Mint, with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any surface scratches, scuffs, sleeve marks or spindle marks on the labels. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. This record has become very rare and you would be hard pressed to find another one like this one, especially a promotional copy. I have a lot more Disco and Reggae records, as well as albums of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately in Near Mint condition. Thank you for viewing my listing.    I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
