When reggae first arrived in the UK, it was described as "yobbo music", "crude"
and "boring" by the music papers, and afforded very little radio airplay.
Outside of the West Indian communities, it was the skinheads who took the music to
their hearts - hence the term "skinhead reggae" to describe the sounds of Jamaica
that filled the nation's youth clubs and dancehalls during the late Sixties and early Seventies.
