Freddy King gained fame as one of the most outstanding proponents and artists, both instrumentally and vocally, of the American blues and his first hit records and songs were all blues oriented. Freddy became intrigued with the comparison and the fundamental lyrical qualities of both the Bossa Nova and the Blues... the result is this album which reflects his ideas and talents. "Bossa Nova and Blues" is a new experience and certainly a new sound and beat. Freddy King's interpretation is the basic blues format, sound and musical structure influenced by the wonderful lyrical quality of the Bossa Nova syncopation, tempos and style. To make the comparison even more vivid, the producers of this album included several regular blues so that a direct comparison and understanding of the two styles would be possible for the listener. Freddy King, of course, does all the vocal work and also all the solo and lead guitar instrumental work.
