Brahms Symphony 1 Klemperer Aust Columbia SAXO 2262
The Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Otto Klemperer performs the Brahms “Symphony No. 1”. An original Australian stereo pressing on the Columbia Label (SAXO 2262), the labels are blue/green with silver radio waves and border, and black stereophonic flash, and this is a “pancake” pressing. Side one labels has a “sample record” sticker. The record has slight greyish markings – probably caused by the plastic inner - which do not appear to affect the sound quality and is of very good appearance, and plays and sounds superb with occasional surface noise. The cover is scruffy and has rubbed with a ring and creases along the left-hand side.
