Description

Brazil Philips Mono on heavy vinyl of Elis Regina Samba Eu Canto Assim with Paulo Moura e Quarteto (a great Black Brazilian soprano sax player of that time). It sounds like a bigger studio orchestra is on some tracks as well. This roughly translates as Samba the way I sing it. She was a definitive Samba/Jazz singer, the voice here is powerful and swinging, with beautiful phrasing and intonation. This one is difficult to date, as the 1983 reissue was Stereo, and this is mono as stated on the labels, has the original catalogue number of P 632 742 L, and the vinyl is thick, but it's in lovely condition, when usually finding a VG+ is great luck, this one is near mint. The bottom rear corner states Companhia Brasileira de Discos,  they made Philips records from 1958 to 1971, after that they become Companhia Brasileira De Discos Phonogram.
