Description
This sale is for a 1969 Stereo pressing of Edinburgh Folk Trio; Bread Love and Dreams' debut album, as released on Decca records. The vinyl has the Decca wide band label and features the release number SKL.5008 and matrix numbers ZAL-8981.P-IW / ZAL-8982.P-IW in the run off grooves. Interestingly this particular copy looks to have been signed by David McNiven upon the rear of the sleeve, as seen just over his photograph!
This is a very well cared for record and looks like it has had minimal play, the playing surface has a nice clean sheen and free from any surface wear! I tend to be conservative when grading vinyl but I would have to say it is VG++ / Excellent. The playback is superb and listening through both sides I can confirm they are free from any audible faults, as one might expect from a clean 60's Decca pressing. No skips, jumps, pops or distortions and the quality Decca pressing really brings out the delicacy of the music!
The record is housed in a Decca company inner with the blue colour code indicating a stereo edition.
The outer picture sleeve is VG+ as there is some light creasing in the laminate finish which is slightly blistered, there is also a very faint trace of ring wear to the rear but not very noticeable. In other respects the cover is structurally sound no splits, edgewear and the spine titles are not worn. The signature is in blue ink and not personalised.
I think it would be fair to say this is a particularly great copy of this very scarce early folk rock LP. I am happy to post abroad but only via the eBay global shipping programme, so sorry I am not offering any alternative postage. I prefer to auction so am not fielding any buy it now offers.
Please note I am also offering the follow up album by Bread Love and Dreams 'The Strange tale of Captain Shannon and the Humpback from Gigha', so please take a look at my other listings, thanks for looking.
