Description
BREAKAWAYS – BABY PLEASE DON’T GO/WALK RIGHT BACK
(NZ, HMV HR287, 1967)
6th and final single for NZ band formerly known as ‘Bari And The Breakaways’ which features a fabulous garage beat cover of the Big Joe Williams/Them chesnutt in ‘Baby Please Don’t Go’ coupled with a fine rendition of the Everly’s classic ‘Walk Right Back’.
The Breakaways were a fine pop/rock/garage band from New Plymouth, NZ, who managed to release two very good ‘beat’ albums in the mid 60’s and a number of fine singles.
