General Condition Ok, I'm new to listing vinyl so I'm a bit apprehensive about condition reports.
I am embarking on selling a large collection of albums mainly from the 70's and 80's.
I am basing my condition reports of these albums on visual inspection.
The album sleeves have plenty of signs of age, corner bumping, shelf wear and whatnot.
And occasionally I see that a sleeve could do with a touch of gluing.
Also a little dusty and some signs of foxing to the sleeves, outer and inner.
Probably the result of long term storage. The vinyl itself looks very good and generally free of any major scratches.
I see no sign of warping. Labels appear clean.
What blemishes I can see on the surface are mainly spots of dirt or perhaps mildew.
I'm not embarking on a long drawn out cleaning job but I have cleaned a couple of these spots off with a distilled water/isopropyl mix and it worked a treat.
So I'm confident that these records have been well cared for in use but perhaps not so well in storage.
