The debut album by Jess Roden & Bronco was initially recorded at Olympic Studios & then at Island's Basing Street Studios, London in April to September and released in November 1970. Jess Roden had quit the Alan Bown Set in August 1969 and formed a new band with old friends from Kidderminster; Kevyn Gammond, Robbie Blunt, Johne Pasternak & Pete Robinson. They played their first local gig in December that year and throughout 1970 played gigs on the UK circuit and gradually recorded their first album at Island's new Basing Street Studios. The album is a good reflection of their laid back Country/Rock sound, in part influenced by the sound of the Byrds and other American bands of the era.

This is the original issue with the Island pink rim labels and the earliest A-2U B-2U matrices and 1-G 1-R stampers of the very first presses.

  The E. J. Day Group matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some very light corner/edge wear and very light storage rubbing on the outer cover. The spine is intact and fully readable and the plain company inner is intact & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of only one or two faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud hiss, pops or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really great, loud & clear listen!   The matrix nos. are; ILPS-9124, A-2U stamper 1-G, B-2U stamper 1-R. This is one of the very early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1970 UK stereo issue of this album!
