Description

Hi thereThinning out my collection. PLEASE READ EVERYTHING!!
Bruce Springsteen Sherry Darling 7 inch from 1981. U.K. Promotion vinyl issue on CBS Records with the sleeve. Withdrawn promo with the 13th February 1981 release date, which was scrapped for the common 20th February 1981 release date. Only 100 made and many were destroyed with only a very small amount escaping. Here’s only the 3rd one (to my limited knowledge), to ever come up for sale. Doesn’t have the even rarer withdrawn pic sleeve with Independence Day listed but there’s only a couple of them that have ever surfaced! Extremely rare item.
Extremely rare UK-only white label promotional pressing with "wrong" B-side; immediately withdrawn and replaced by the common corrected version (same catalogue number) featuring "Be True" on the flip. As evidenced by a private, handwritten letter from late famous UK “Capital Radio” DJ and major Springsteen fan/insider Roger Scott sent to “Point Blank” fanzine editor Dan French in late January 1981, the production of this 7” came about because CBS’ London branch did not receive their master copy of “Be True” in time and hence decided to use another “River” album track in its place. According to Chris Hunt's Springsteen discography in the "Blinded By The Light" book, around 100 of these were made; with an unknown number coming in a colour picture sleeve that was similar to later UK issues (see below), but of course listed "Independence Day" on front. It is believed that no more than two (!) genuine picture sleeve copies are currently in the hands of collectors."
Again, Ive had this for years and it's been stored away on a shelf in its protective sleeve. I will use record collector gradings I found online. I've added more pics as people are asking for closer pictures of the actual records.
The record is in great condition, excellent I would say, light marks. The sleeve is nice, very good plus I would say, light ringwear, minor creases, minor scores.
Postage in the uk is £2.70 and that will include Royal Mail signed for. I will ship abroad but definitely not without signed for or tracking. That will cost £8.70 according to the Royal Mail website. I can combine shipping.
