Bubble Puppy's epic 1969 recording, "A Gathering of Promises", International Artists pressing. Never played, opened only for signatures & photos.......absolute mint condition. The album cover was signed on Oct. 26th, 2012 by the original band members: Rod Prince, Todd Potter, David Fore, and Roy Cox (pictured). The signing took place in Austin, Texas the night before their show at Threadgill's World Headquarters in Austin. Here's your chance to own a piece of rock & roll music history. Bubble Puppy had a smash hit in 1969 with "Hot Smoke And Sassafras" which was a rock track loaded with smokin' guitars and excellent harmonizing. The songs are a combination of melodic rockers such as the above mentioned hit "Hot Smoke And Sassatras", "I've Got To Reach You", "Todd's Tune", "Lonely", "Elizabeth" and "Beginnings". The album also highlight's Bubble Puppy's ability to write some well crafted slower songs such as the title track "A Gathering Of Promises", and "It's safe To Say". The musicianship here is unheralded for it's time, implementing some of the first use of harmony lead guitars in rock music. Rod Prince and Todd Potter were definite pioneers in the dual guitar agenda, fore-fathers of the same guitar techniques used by The Allman Bros. and Lynyrd Skynyrd a few years later. Bassist Roy Cox' melodic bass lines and smooth, yet powerful vocals are the icing on the cake, with David "Fuzzy" Fore's "stop on a dime" drum riffs creating jaw drops amongst drum enthusiasts across the country. This one is a keeper, still timeless some 43 years later!
