Album Notes
Original release on Capitol (2760) in August, 1967.Personnel: Buck Owens (vocals, guitar) and his Buckaroos.
Looking for REAL country music? Crisp guitars that twang, a pedal steel sound that fills the room, a rollicking beat, earnest & earthy singing--it's all here! "Only You (can Break My Heart)" practically defines honky-tonk heartbreak. "Rocks in My Head" is the flip-side of the emotional coin, a sarcastic & joyful wake-up-call to leave a bad relationship. Buck is one of the ones who kept The Real Thing (as also defined by Lefty Frizzell and Merle Haggard) going & pure, and the sound is in turn carried on by Marty, George (Straight and Jones), Dwight, and Buddy Miller. Listen to him.
