Bud Powell ORIG FRE LP The trio NM ’62 Disques Vogue Max Roach Jazz Bop
Bud Powell
The trio
Original French LP released in 1962 on Discues Vogue Records. Cat: LD62530.
One of the giants of the jazz piano, Bud Powell changed the way that virtually all post-swing pianists play their instruments. He did away with the left-hand striding that had been considered essential earlier and used his left hand to state chords on an irregular basis. His right often played speedy single-note lines, essentially transforming Charlie Parker's vocabulary to the piano (although he developed parallel to "Bird”). Features Max Roach - Drums & Curley Russell - Bass.
Tracks: I’ll remember April/ Everything happens to me/ Indiana/ I should care/ Nice work if you van get it/ Off minor/ Buds bubble/ Somebody loves me/ Embraceable you/ My heart stood still/ You’d be so nice to come home to/ Burt covers Bud.
There are no signs of spindle marks on labels. Record is in Near Mint condition. Gloss cover with back flaps has some light marks, a small sticker stain and light crease mark on top left corner and a small piece of back flap missing on back top right. Cover is in VG+ condition.
