Bud Powell
The Amazing Bud Powell-Volume 1-LP
Blue Note BLP 1503-Mono
1955 33 1/3 RPM LP release by Bop pianist supreme, Bud Powell. Copy at hand is a 100% authentic Lexington Ave original 1st press Blue Note LP release, bearing all the correct identifying markings. Classic Powell LP, presenting him in a trio setting with Curly Russell and Max Roach, or with a quintet, including Fats Navarro, Sonny Rollins, Tommy Potter, and Roy Haynes. Tracks include "Un Poco Loco" (3 takes), "52nd St Theme," and "Bouncing With Bud." Glossy cover (Lexington Ave address on back) shows only slight wear and soil overall. Bottom right corner has 1/4" split and small tear. No stains or writing. Heavy vinyl disc has "squared edge" and bears blue to white label with Lexington Ave address and "deep groove." Dead wax bears the following markings: "RVG," "ear" symbol, and "BN LP 1503." Vinyl overall is wonderfully clean and glossy-side one shows a couple of hard to see light marks which do not affect play. (Please note: this disc does NOT have the odd rim defect that the other volume we offer on eBay has). Disc plays beautifully with only light surface noise and clear sound.
