ARTIST: Bud Shank Quartet
LABEL: Pacific Jazz 1215 (1956 Mono)
TITLE: Bud Shank Quartet featuring Claude Williamson
CONDITION:
Sleeve: The front cover is VG++ w/ nice clean graphics but has some wear on the lamination which seems to have lost some of it's gloss. Also has small sections of light staining at the bottom corners and a few tiny light drop stains along the left edge. The back cover is almost Mint- w/ a very tiny light stain at the bottom left corner. The seams are sharp & intact w/ just a little light wear at the top corners
Record: Retains high original gloss w/ some light surface scuffs and generally plays VG++ w/ some light random background surface noise and some light random background ticks. Side A also has a few tiny nicks at the end of Track 2 that cause some background ticks through about half of the track. Side B also has a few light scratches especially one on Track 1 that runs through about half of the track and causes light background ticks through that portion. All that said this LP has great sound sound presence! / VPI cleaned
COMMENTS: Nice original 1956 Mono deep groove copy w/ black & silver labels in super heavy sleeve. This rare & great West Coast LP features Bud on alto sax & flute accompanied by Claude Williamson - piano, Chuck Flores - drums and Don Prell - bass.
Tracks : Bag Of Blues...Nature Boy...All This & Heaven Too...Jubilation...Do Nothin' Till You Hear From Me...Nocturne For Flute...Walkin'...Carioca...
Great sound presence!
NOTE: VPI cleaned means that this record was cleaned on a professional $500 cleaning machine, which does wonders for the playback of all vinyl records!
