Buddy Holly Collectors: Ultimate 45 RPM Holly disks
OK… here is a lot of two Buddy Holly 45's you have never seen or even heard of! The first is Buddy Holly's parents talking about their son. It was recorded in 1964, in Lubbock, Texas. The flip side is one of Buddy's earliest recordings, from 1954, recorded in Wichita Falls, Texas. The title of the song is "Memories". The song is on the "A"side with Buddy's parents on side "B".
The next 45 is Norman Petty talking about the plane crash. This plane crash truly was "…the day the music died." Mr. Petty's voice was recorded in 1964 in Clovis, New Mexico, at the studio where he recorded many of Buddy Holly's hits. He was Buddy's manager at the time of the plane crash. "That Makes it Tough" is the "A" side song while Mr. Petty is on the"B"side. "That Makes it Tough" was recorded at New York City in 1959.
Both records are on the Prism label and are numbered sequentially. Since they were released at the same time,they are offered together here. Both records come with their jukebox library tags. These records have been played, but are in VG to VG+ condition. There is a low starting bid for this lot, and shipping will be free. Yes, free!
When my father-in-law died, he left us 12,000 seven-inch records. We are in the process of cataloging all of them! Thank God for Microsoft Excel!
If you collect Buddy Holly memorabilia or music, these records are MUST HAVE for your collection! It would be worth buying a cheap 45 RPM player just to hear these bits of Buddy Holly history.
