Super rare original 1957 pressing, with textured cover, styrene disc, black label… FIRST PRESS! This one is in G/VG with some groove burn and nice gloss. There is a skip on track one due to the groove burn, but overall the LP is very listenable and has a nice gloss, looking about VG with isolated groove wear. I will record a good chunk of side one including the skip at the beginning and you will hear the program clear up a lot as it goes, so what you hear FIRST is the WORST and everything after that sounds pretty darn great!… a lot of the LP is very clean. It's so rare to see an absolute first press, even in played condition it's still worth a good penny as a good playable and handsome original DEBUT from one of Rock's founding fathers. The discs that Decca-based labels were pressed on in the 50's, were injection molded styrene plastic. This was a technology in its infancy, so often they had pressing errors and the brittle and delicate nature of the plastic often found themselves eaten alive by the primitive turntables of the day, especially records like THIS which were marketed to a much younger market. It's no wonder that vinyl became the norm after this early "Experiment" in styrene. It's rare to even see one of these at all, since the disc was easy to break, easy to play to death and were priced out of the range of most younger folks of the day. All factors that make this record rare in any condition! The Labels are clean and the black ones with this print scheme were short-lived making them super scarce, and the jacket has great colors and some light seam wear with some splits and original inner. The picture you see here is taken through the plastic sleeve it's been stored in, so it actually looks more vibrant than the picture shows.
