Buddy Holly “That’ll Be The Day” US Pink Label Promo Decca DL 8707 G+/G. About This Record. This is an original copy of Buddy Holly's record entitled "That'll Be the Day" released on Decca Records with the original Pink Promo only label. These NEVER turn up.
Please look at all the photos of what you’ll receive.
Cover: Good (G) There is a lot of ware to the cover. The whole top seem is split. There’s about an inch split on the bottom from the opening in. There is also a split on the spine going from the top to about 4” down the spine but a strip of yellow tape seems to have stopped this. There is a tear on the front and radio station call letters “KUGK” and the date ”7/26/59” written on the back with what looks to be a grease pen.
Record: Good+ (G+) The record plays G to G+ on side one with multiple hairline marks and plays with surface noise. Still a good listen. Side 2 plays a VG with multiple hairline marks. Lead in groove has a tick but that disappears before the song starts. Side 2 sounds better.
Overall the record sounds good.
