Description

  • Excellent 1969 white label promo stereo Original Soundtrack LP for the Steve McQueen classic movie "Bullitt" (WB 1777, stereo, US pressing) with an incredible jazz funk score composed and conducted by Lalo Schifrin. This is the original first US pressing, not a reissue or import.
  • The jazz and funk based Blaxploitation website gives this soundtrack its highest rating (5 out of 5) describing it as: "…a perfect blend of funk, pop and jazz. The main theme is a classic with its strong, driving bass line and the rest of the album is as consistent".
  • The movie, starring Steve McQueen, Jacqueline Bisset and Robert Vaughn, set the standard for detective movies and car chases and the jazzy score is a big part of the reason this movie has reached legendary status.
  • The tracklist is: Bullitt (main title theme)/Room "26"/Hotel Daniels/The Aftermath Of Love/Music To Interrogate By/On The Way To San Mateo/Ice Pick Mike/A Song for Cathy/Shifting Gears/Cantata For Combo/The First Snowfall/Bullitt (end title theme).
  • The glossy LP looks and plays great with just a few superficial marks and some light occasional surface noise. The beginning of side two has a few light tics at the lead track but is not at all overwhelming and the rest of the LP plays crisp and clear.
