Description

BUSINESS UNUSUAL –  Cherry Red and ZigZag vinyl LP on the CHERRY RED label, released in 1978, Stereo Mono, Cat No A. RED 2.

From an on-line review - Some of the sleeve notes:

So what do you get for your money? Here we go then for the real News of the World stuff: From the ribald high energy lift-off with the U.K. SUBS and the LEYTON BUZZARDS we fly away To a taste of the excellent music coming out of Ireland, represented here by THE OUTCASTS. Dashing back to London we're confronted by DAVE GOODMAN and (PISTOLS packing) FRIENDS. Then sauntering over to Litter-free Wimbledon the ball is in the court for THE OUTSIDERS who contribute some pure front-room recordings. Then it's down to the Kent coast for a spin with THE RECORD PLAYERS taking the long way back via Aylesbury town to catch some VICE CREEMS licks. Heading off Eastward into the sunset (?) we sign off side one on THE DOLE in Peterborough,
Hey look, I can't keep this up. Basically if this side doesn't get you Jumping About you better look down at your feet 'cos you've stood in some Quick Drying Cement.
Now Side Two is more of a matter for the Grey matter (stop me someone). Opening with Worcester's THE TIGHTS in melodic mood and PETE TOWNSEND protege's THE SKUNKS. This side then moves on to explore some of the new electronic music that emerged in the last year as the New Wave became more introspective, represented by London based THOMAS LEER and ROBERT RENTAL. In a similar vein the ultimate cult band THROBBING GRISTLE render what they describe as their "Tesco Disco" hit which GENESIS P. ORRIDGE once told me, is about a four way love affair by transatlantic correspondence. Rounding off the album are CABARET VOLTAIRE representing the plethora of experimental bands active in the Sheffield area and pointing to future directions.
So there you are, plenty to get your teeth into, but consider this as Volume One and if your fave track isn't here write in and tell us. Or even record your own, '77 and '78 were the years when voices got heard.
