ELEKTRA Records EKS 7315
Original 1966 issue Stereo LP
1st Pressing • Grooved Gold Label
Original Inner Sleeve included

VINYL is EX / EX+
Full Gloss Vinyl is extremely clean both sides - a very few faintest sleeve hairlines on side one, viewed in hard bright light; just a few more on side 2, that are inaudible. LP plays superb throughout. 1st issue GOLD (not tan) BIG E labels are pristine both sides.
.
COVER is EX+
Still in the complete, clean original factory shrinkwrap; crisp and unfaded. All edges straight, all corners sharp. Small soft corner crease at bottom right. No dings, dents, spotting, wear, soil, writing or other marks. Seams and spine 100% intact with no splits.

*Please excuse any 'grainy' look to pictures (...from low-light photos).

STRICT CONSERVATIVE GOLDMINE GRADING
NM / EX(VG++) / VG+ / VG

TRUE FIRST PRESS of this iconic Chicago Blues Masterpiece - featuring MIKE BLOOMFIELD at his prime.
Very well-preserved original, super-clean inside and out.

NOTE:
THIS ALBUM WAS NEVER RELEASED ON ELEKTRA'S "GUITAR PLAYER" LABEL THAT THEIR PREVIOUS 1965 DEBUT WAS FIRST ISSUED ON.
OCCASIONAL MISINFORMATION TO THE CONTRARY, WHICH CAN BE FOUND IN SOME RECORD BOOKS AND PRICE GUIDES, IS BLATANTLY
INACCURATE AND MISLEADING. THIS LABEL (TAN/GOLD/BROWN) WAS INAUGURATED BY ELEKTRA IN 1966 - BEFORE THIS LP WAS ISSUED.
The GOLD COLOR with GROOVE 2/3" FROM EDGE WAS VERY FIRST. IT IS THE ONE AND ONLY FIRST LABEL PRESSING OF THIS ALBUM.
(See DISCOGS for all issues worldwide of this LP - See VINYLBEAT for more info on ELEKTRA RECORDS labelography).

included Original ELEKTRA company inner sleeve is crisp NM with no tears, splits, soil or other marks.

An absolute classic of the form and responsible for launching a 1960's boom in Electric Blues and Blues Psych. This is Mike Bloomfield's finest hour; not that he didn't do many great things following. The music is impassioned, brilliantly set down by all involved - with near-telepathic interplay between the players. And despite being fronted by 4 young white men (with the solid, veteran Black rhythm section of Jerome Arnold and Billy Davenport fueling them) is utterly authentic Chicago Blues. One of two finest 'white blues' albums ever recorded.

What more need be said? The album is essential - and you couldn't find a better, more collectible pressing than this original USA 1st ELEKTRA Press.

You would be hard pressed to find a choicer condition original 1st Press today
