Description
Grail Wisconsin Modern Soul / Dance 45. Songs: In The Disco b/w A Place.
Thoughts:
Apparently "C" of "C on the funk" is a man named Charles Smith. The band were apparently comprised of youth (like the Jackson's). Though the title track has the title 'disco' in it, make no mistake, this is a soul record which happens to have dance floor appeal. Both songs feature marvelous Fender Rhodes and synthesizer work. The melodies are warm, deep, slightly funky, and just all around enjoyable. "A Place" is my favorite song between the two. The singing is sweet, often reminding me of Don Blackman. All in all, a worthy addition to any collection (and sample friendly for you producers out there).
Record has been graded using the "Goldmine" standard:
Record: VG (Conservatively rated. Most sellers would probably grade this VG+)
Record plays with little to no surface noise. It has some light scratches which do not appear to affect the sound. See photos.
Label: VG
I've given the label a VG rating due to what appears to be the bands signatures being written on it.
