Description
Up for auction is a very good copy of the rare Cal Tjader album Agua Dulce, originally released in the U.S. on Fantasy Records (8416) in 1971:
-Guaranteed original pressing, NOT recent reissue -Original blue Fantasy labels w/ silver type -Original paste-down cover -No UPC/bar code on cover -Not record club pressing
Condition: Cover looks good, but with some signs of wear. Front is still nice and colorful, but has some light ring wear top and bottom middle. Also has two white spots on front where perhaps stickers have been removed (see photo). Seams are good, intact, no splits! Titles on spine are legible, with some light wear. Corners are good, light rubbing. Back shows general light rubbing wear. Overall, still a nice original. Grade: VG
Vinyl is also very good, still has much of its original shine, though does show signs of previous handling. Has some light superficial hairlines and scuffs on both sides but nothing deep, nothing feelable, and nothing that should affect the quality of playback. Side Two shows some tiny pressing dimples from the manufacturing process but do not affect quality of playback either. Labels are clean.
Audio Spot-Tested: I've spot tested this album, and the overall sound quality is excellent, clear full-bodied stereo sound. Has a little pressing noise on the run-in grooves, like most Fantasy records of this era, but once the music kicks in, it fades out, and doesn't distract from the enjoyment of this record. A nice sounding original! Grade: VG+
