Description
Up for auction is a super nice original copy of the Cal Tjader/Stan Getz album "Sextet" originally released in the U.S. on Fantasy Records (3266) in 1958.

Condition: The cover is in beautiful condition with only minor signs of age. Front laminations still retains its original high gloss shine, no rubbing loss or ring wear. Back cover is nice, no ring wear, no writing, no rubbing loss. Does show some general age darkening, but almost all copies do--the nature of the high-acid paper used. Has a small moisture mark in upper right corner. Corners are very sharp, not bumped, no chipping anywhere. Seams are strong, intact, no splits, no chipping, no cracking. Beautifully preserved cover. Grade the cover Near Mint Minus (NM-).
The vinyl is also in beautiful condition, still retains its original glossy shine and luster. I bought this record 20 years ago from jazz guru, Fred Cohen at the legendary Jazz Record Center in New York City, and he graded this record Near Mint, and who am I to argue? No apparent scratches or scuffs. Labels are clean. Just some light signs of having been taken out of original paper inner sleeve a few times.
Play-Tested: I have play tested this record, and the sound quality, when played in recommended Mono Mode, is excellent, generally very clear and clean, which is unusual for these colored vinyl pressings. Not audiophile clean, but one of the cleaner original pressings you're going to find. Grade the vinyl Near Mint (NM).
