Tago Mago:

Tago Mago was Can’s 3rd album, released in 1971. Seminal music along with Monster Movie (their first) and Ege Bamyasi and Future Days which followed, though ALL of their albums contain brilliant stuff. No one else has ever sounded quite like Can, and they remain as fresh and innovative now as 38 years ago.

This copy is a United Artists UK  1ST PRESSING UAD 60009/10!!!!

These are the EARLIEST UK/Made in England United Artists pressings ever made.

Matrix side 1: UAD 60009 A-1 and C 29211 A-1

Both records and sleeve are in FABULOUS condition, this album has been handled carefully and the records have seen MINIMAL PLAY!!!!

Vinyl:

Side 1, 2, and 4: Visually EXCELLENT+

Side 3: Visually EXCELLENT-. There is a very small mark (not a scratch) about ¾ of the way through Aumgn which is mainly on the surface and is almost inaudible, only if you're listening for it, and way behind the sound (it looks like a surface blemish, definitely not a scratch, and not black as in the photo).

Aurally EXCELLENT. All 4 sides play superbly all the way through with no jumps or clicks and with just the occasional light surface noise or static eg. during the run-in groove. Sound quality is like new without any groove wear or distortion and FABULOUS clarity, bass depth and power (better than the later 80s reissues on the German Spoon label).

Labels:

All 4 labels are in NEAR MINT condition with perhaps 1 or 2 very light spindle lines which are not visible unless held at an angle up to good light. As I say this album has seen minimal careful play.

Cover:

EXCELLENT. The cover is the original textured envelope design with folding sides and opening top.  There is some minor wear to spine and sides and the four corners, and one corner is ever so slightly creased – all clearly shown in the photos. However, the album has kept it’s shape and strength very well. There are no creases or wear to the flaps which still retain their stiffness, and the front and back are flat, smooth and uncreased, with NO RING WEAR and retain their colour and sheen with hardly any signs of age at all – this is RARE for this type of unlaminated cover, especially after 36 years!

Inner Sleeves:

Album comes with the original United Artists inner sleeves in EXCELLENT condition.

Postage and Packaging:

Records are securely shipped in purpose made record mailers with stiffeners for added protection.

I will only accept returns if I am persuaded I have made a genuine mistake in my grading. I make an effort to describe albums accurately and to show you clearly in the photos what you are bidding for. If in doubt, please don't bid!

I will not refund postage. Nor do I refund in case of damage or loss in transit - insurance cover is optional and recommended, if you want it please ask for it.

I will be selling much of my private collection (1000+) built up over the last 40 years. Most are collectable originals. I was very fussy and very nearly all my records are in EXCELLENT to MINT condition, with a handful graded as Very Good. I have always looked after and handled them with great care, and for the last 15 years they have been in safe storage. Now it’s time to pass them on to you and other collectors who will enjoy them anew.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
