Description
CANDLEMASS - The King Of The Grey Islands DLP (grey vinyl with white/black splatters)
So it was happened then, Messiah Marcolin, who has had the most lasting impact as singer on CANDLEMASS,
had left the band in 2006 & Robert Lowe came, saw and won on all levels.
With the 10 songs from ''The King Of The Gray Islands'' he delivers a terrific performance, incredibly intense and emotional. It's hard to believe that the songs were all created before he started in the band. It almost seems as if songwriter Leif Edling was just waiting for the singer of SOLITUDE AETURNUS, who in turn was waiting for exactly those songs.
The big footsteps left by his predecessor didn't seem to bother him. And of course there is still Leif Edling, who shows if he wants that he is still the master of sad melodies. It is often played in a dramatic and epic way, the melody is more depressive and sometimes aggressive in nature, and is more frustrating & desperate than the theatricality that characterized CANDLEMASS on previous albums.
A bold & non-commercial album that on the one hand sounds unmistakably CANDLEMASS, but on the other hand cannot be compared to any previous work. Robert Lowe makes a made-to-measure debut and immediately establishes himself as the perfect vocalist for the blackest album in band history.
The limited 2019´s new edition in double LP format will be delivered in grey with white/black splattered vinyl packed in a gatefold cover & comes with 3 additional bonustracks.
