Please remember that after washing every record on the Audio Desk Systeme Gläss machine, I listen to the records IN THEIR ENTIRETY! No sampling or guesswork! Any defects will be fully highlighted.
1 GENERAL APPEARANCE OF PLAYING SURFACES
Many hairline scuffs both sides.
2 CONDITION OF LABELS
Labels fine, several visible spindle marks.
3 COVER
Cardboard cover has repaired splits top and bottom. Some wear all corners. Flaking here and there on the front. Whilst I obviously cannot authenticate the signature on the back, it looks just like the images that can be viewed on the internet.
I grade the cover VG+
4 INNER SLEEVE
No original inner sleeve.
5 LISTENING NOTES
Side 1
Thirteen light clicks at the start of the side. A few spots of light background crackle, but for the most part remarkably fine. Sound with a mono pickup is wonderful.
I grade this side EX-
Side 2
Two short series of clicks about five minutes in, and another two short series of clicks two minutes later. More background noise than on side 1, but quietens down after about five minutes. A little light distortion in the closing bars.
I grade this side VG+
If this is a genuine autograph, then I wonder how the sleeve came to be signed. Did someone wait outside the concert hall door after one of the artist´s performances in Germany in the mid fifties? Fascinating to speculate.

RECORD CLEANING AND ASSESSMENT
I clean all 12 inch vinyl records on the Audio Desk Systeme Gläss machine, at the longest setting. I then physically examine the record with a magnifying glass for any visible defects.
10 inch and 7 inch vinyl and all shellac records are hand cleaned in warm water with a non corrosive cleaning agent.
Every record is then played IN ITS ENTIRETY, no sampling or guess-work. When you buy a record from me, it will be exactly as described. You can be sure that every flaw or defect will have been heard and will be specifically mentioned in my review.
GRADING
These are the five gradings I normally use:
NM, EX+, EX, EX-, and VG+. I think my listening notes will make these gradings self-explanatory. Any grading lower than VG+ will have more defects than I would tolerate in my own record collection. I use the grading NM very sparingly. I estimate less than one in twenty records I review will achieve this grading.
LISTENING NOTES
These are my personal opinions on the quality of the sound, the performance, and background information about the recording where possible. I hope you find my comments helpful.
PACKAGING AND DESPATCH
All records are carefully packaged in strong cardboard cruciform boxes with supporting inserts. I supply a fresh inner sleeve and the original where it exists. A small post-it note on the inner sleeve gives details of the date and reference number of my cleaning and assessment, should you want to come back to me for more information. I recommend that you take out shipping insurance for higher value records.
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT MY RECORDS
I will be putting small amounts of records up for auction at regular intervals over the coming months. These records are my personal choices, and I have selected them for a number of reasons. The music itself, the quality of the performance, its rarity and desirability, or just because I find a particular record interesting or unusual. I hope you take the time to look at the other records I have up for auction.
