THE CAPSTAN PLAYERS LP MILTON ACADEMY (Trans Radio TR990).
Original US mono Private pressing on the obscure blue Trans Radio label. The Capstan Players were a late 60s high school garage rock band attending Milton Academy in Massachusetts. Their only album was issued in a plain jacket. I play-graded this copy, and it sounds very nice with only minor background surface noise.
Players include Paul Donsanto (guitarist in The Beacon Street Union), Doug Hendren (Musical Scalpel), John "Suss" Sussewell (drummer), John Hagerty, and Carter Manny. Album opens with The Standells' "Dirty Water". Tracks include covers of songs by the Remains, Richard and the Young Lions, The Critters, The Byrds and "Til The End Of The Day" by The Kinks. Beautiful label with deep rich color tone. Thick platter. (Matrix #: "MG201382T1").

Pretty good condition all in all and free of major scratches. Needle tracks very well with no up & down or back & forth movement. Three long, superficial surface flecks. The brief marks are quite shallow. No skips, cracks, chipping or warping. This album has been safely stored upright in a climate-controlled environment.
