Description

First off, please excuse some odd shadowing on the photos due to winter sun through the window of my man cave up in the tower. This offering is for the original 'Trout Mask' 1969 UK stereo double LP on Straight STS 1053 by the great man himself with his band of merry men.
The gatefold sleeve by E.J. Day is made of medium card with 'fold-in flipbacks' and with a finish somewhere between matt and glossy (mossy?).  It is strong with no seam splits, rips, tears, handwriting or sticker residue.  The inner sides are fine having been protected of course but as the pics show, the outers have edge wear including the corners and back line of the spine although the mouths are quite tidy.  Ringwear is in evidence also.  In summary therefore the sleeve is solid but aged which it is being 48 years old whether that is an excuse.  Because of the cosmetic issues I would rate the sleeve 7.5/10 for condition.
But wait.....good news!  The sleeve has done its' job and both discs are in very nice shape thank you. They are of at least medium weight, flat and shiny with machine etched matrix numbers STS 1053 A1/B1/C1/D1 on the run-offs. All labels are clean with tight spindle holes and from the minor evidence of spindle tracking I gauge you could count the number of plays on the fingers of one hand and for a couple of the sides you wouldn't need all your fingers. As for the playing surfaces they look very pleasing in daylight at the window. But on to the evil desk light for the ultimate verdict. Angling the discs under the search lamp I see some scuffs and a few light hairlines which is most often the case for vinyls of this longevity even in hibernation. So I would give both records 8/10 minimum to err on the safe side.  Should the winning bidder disagree with my subjective opinion then no problem to return of course.
The two inner sleeves are the original die-cut 'Made In Britain' plain issues with smooth inners.  You can see they are hand titled in pen.
That's it.  99p start, free UK postage and auction will run to end.
