Description
Up for auction is the very rare vinyl record, Captain Beefhearts "Trout Mask Replica" with the blue Bizarre records album label. What makes this album unique is that in 1969 Frank Zappa established both the Bizarre and Straight record labels with the intention to release albums of avantgarde artists on Bizarre and more main stream artists on Straight. However, the orginal Bizarre Records concept failed to work out due to issues with distribution and management. This is why most of these albums that you see have the Straight Records album label.
This album has the blue Bizarre label with the code of 2MS-2027 while the sleeve still says Straight Records and has the code STS-1053. Both matrix codes are etched in the dead wax area of the album. A very limited pressing.
Both albums are in VG+ condition with minimal scuff marks and both play well with no noticable popping or clicks. The album sleeve has normal wear with slight ring wear and a small 3/4" split in the seam at the bottom of the album cover at the corner where the album slides in and out. All writting is ledgeable on the fold.
Please review the photographs for a better look at the overall condition ofthis great record.
