TROUT MASK REPLICA - Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band; Straight Records 2 STS 1053, two discs, stereo.
This is an original first-pressing from 1969. It has all the bells and whistles - gatefold jacket, original lyric insert, original Straight inner sleeves, and auto-coupled discs with the label misprints. It has been lovingly enjoyed by a single owner since it was new but it does have a few defects. The 1-4 disc is in excellent shape; the 2-3 disc has some scuffing and two or three short scratches that are probably audible. The insert has been folded (see picture). One of the Straight inner sleeves is torn. The jacket is decent but there is some ring wear and general handling wear. This album has been stored, unplayed, for a long time - there may be some residual static and discs may benefit from a real cleaning.
