Another from my personal collection. An awesome sounding early original 1st UK pressing by Caravan ''In The Land Of Grey And Pink'' Look! very early features ''-1D and ''-1D'' Matrix endings and earliest ''1'' to ''1'' Mother Stampers! Earliest produce the best audio quality on vinyl in my opinion! The vinyl looks and sounds barely played more than a handful of times in my personal opinion! In fact side one plays through near as mint on my systems, stunning seperation clear and vibrant throughout. Side 2 played through the same apart from two static scuff type ticks that I heard on this side. Overall grading in my opinion would be excellent plus for the audio quality absolutely fantastic throughout!  This is complete with the original decca stereo record sleeve and laminated front only Robert Stace gatefold in truly exceptional condition!!

Caravan is a band from the Canterbury area (KENT,ENGLAND), founded by former Wilde Flowers members David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye Hastings and Richard Coughlan. Caravan rose to success over a period of several years from 1968 onwards into the 1970s as part of the Canterbury scene, blending psychedelic rock and jazz to create a distinctive sound like their contemporaries Soft Machine. Caravan still remains active as a live band in the 21st century!!!!.

Following the dissolution of their former band, Wilde Flowers, David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye Hastings and Richard Coughlan formed Caravan in 1968. The band became the first British act to sign for American record label, Verve, who subsequently released the band's debut LP, Caravan, later the same year. After this Verve closed their rock and pop division, causing Caravan to move to Decca Records for the release of If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You in 1970, from which the title track gained the band an appearance on Top Of The Pops, and then Deram (Decca's progressive subsidiary) for 1971's In the Land of Grey and Pink.!!!!!

 In the Land of Grey and Pink is an album by progressive rock band Caravan, released in 1971. According to allmusic.com, "it is considered by many to be the pinnacle release from Caravan." The title track is most likely the bands most well-known song!!!

The labels.

The original labels are in awesome top condition. Features the DERAM  (DECCA SUBSIDARY) LABELS only early press)! All rights.... are featured around the label rim(only early press)! I can see very little amount of spidering and hardly any spindle ware at all  which indicates that this has hardly been played very (very) rare for an album that is 36 years old!

The vinyl.

The vinyl is absolutely superbe on initial visual inspection,  and still retains its sheen from new! (please note this vinyl has barely ever been played and (not) been over played  at all ! Please note! When closely scrutinised angled to the light, I can just see one very, very small scuff type mark on side two only which caused two scuff type ticks at this point. That's all that I can be critical about apart from this, the record plays through absolutely perfectly throughout! There are there no signs of grooveware or distortion! i have played this through track for track and the audio quality is superbe cristal clear and extreemely vibrant!   Any other light whispy marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal only! 

The Audio Quality

I have played this track through a couple of times prior to listing at very loud volume on a top system.The audio on this pressing in my opinion is very near, as good as it gets for a very early UK pressing! Even in between tracks there is extreemely minimal noise lovely and quiet!  I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl and the 1st by this awesome band ''CARAVAN''! Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right!!!!! top! top! audio throughout!! no loud constant clicks,pops ands certainly no jumps or skips at all!

Side 1. Audio graded at least excellent plus to near mint.

Side 2. Audio graded at least excellent to excellent plus (just two static scuff ticks heard) 

Please note! That i always make this disclaimer! please allow for the odd static tick (as previously mentioned above) certainly not consistant throughout the audio, but this is a genuine 37 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 37 year old system!!!!!

The record sleeve

This is the original stereo Decca poly lined sleeve (no) splits or tares ! Becoming fragile with age only. The vinyl is now always stored seperately from the vinyl!

The cover.

This is the original ROBERT STACE PRINTED fully laminated front 'Wide Spined' gatefold cover !! In exceptional condition for 36 years old!!! Barely any storageware to mention at all! Amazingly (no) real visable creases worth mentioning! (very minor\minimal  laminate crease barely noticable unless you look for it)!! superbe spine and the corners are sharp and square (very slightly flattened with age only)! super glossy laminate !   TRY TO FIND A BETTER 1ST PRESS COVER AFTER 36 YEARS!
