Description
This is an ORIGINAL 1956 U.S. PRESS SUN RECORDS 45 containing the songs 'Gone Gone Gone'/'Let The Jukebox Keep On Playing' from 'Blue Suede Shoes' rockabilly guitar man Carl Perkins, his first 45 on the Sun label. It is Sun Records catalog number 224. This is a guaranteed original 1956 Sun Records pressing, with both labels having the three round push marks which are characteristic of original Sun Records pressings from the mid-1950s. The matrix number 45-U-95 appears twice in the dry runout area on the 'Gone Gone Gone' side, once without the second dash (45-U95); the matrix number 45-U-94 appears once in the dry runout area on the 'Jukebox' side. Condition of record is conservatively about a high VG to a low VG+ with a fair amount of surface marks which cannot be felt and will not affect play, and a couple of very small surface scratches on the B-side which can be felt but also do not affect play. Record plays with the usual hissing surface noise that is characteristic of and inherent in most Sun Records 1950s-era pressings, there is no distortion of the music, and maybe two or three extremely minor and barely noticeable ticks, no skips or other play flaws. The initials of a previous owner are written on the A-side label in blue ballpoint, labels also have a small to moderate amount of dark contact wear.
