CARL PERKINS - The Dance Album Of Carl Perkins - Sun LP-1225 mono - issued in 1957

This extremely Rare original 1st issue Lp has pretty glossy vinyl with light visible groove wear and NM- fidelity. There are several fine hairline surface scratches and the visible grade would be Good at best, however, because of the rarity and value of this Lp I will grade each tracks audible condition:

Note: There are light tic's on the deadwax between all tracks and this is Not taken into consideration with the grading, only the tracks are graded in the following:

Side 1
Track 1 - light surface noise at start, 3 mi-nute background tic's = VG+
     "    2 - 3 light tic's and 2 mi-nute background tic's = VG+
     "    3 - 3 mi-nute background tic's = NM-
     "    4 - 3      "              "            "    = NM-
     "    5 - 4      "              "            "    = NM-
"    6 - 1 skip at very start that doesn't stop, 3 light tic's = VG-, other than the skip it sounds VG+
Track 1 - brief mi-nute surface at very start, 1 skip that doesn't stop, other than the skip it sounds NM-
     "    2 -  3 tic's = VG+
     "    3 -  3 tic's and 3 mi-nute background tic's = VG+
     "    4 -  5 mi-nute background tic's(barely audible), 1 mild skip doesn't stop = VG-, other than the skip it sounds VG+
     "    5 -  1 pop at start, 2 tic's = VG+
     "    6 -  2 tic's at very start, very brief mi-nute surface at very end(last groove) = NM-

Track listing:

Side 1 - Blue Suede Shoes, Movie Magg, Sure To Fall, Gone Gone Gone, Honey Don't, Only You

Side 2 - Tennessee, Wrong Yo Yo, Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby, Matchbox, Your True Love, Boppin' The Blues

The labels are NM- with only slight spindle rub around the hole, otherwise no wear, damage or writing, The white inner sleeve is NM but not original, the cover is VG-/VG- mostly because it has scotch tape glue residue on 6 places on the front and on the back The front has  very light ring wear, one small stain at the left top next to the microphone and a small paper loss at the left where tape was removed. The back has age discoloration with very light staining and the numbers 10 7-2 written in ink at the right bottom corner. The spine is fully split top to bottom, the bottom seam is split 8" from the spine and the top seam is split 7" from the opening.

The 2007 Goldmine price guide values a NM copy at $1200, a VG+ copy at $600, and a G copy at $300, you can decide what a copy in this condition is worth to you.
