CACTUS / SONATA IN LA MINORE / CHRISALYS / BATTUTA D'ARRESTO ... 7-inch, 45rpm OST / LIBRARY EP single by CARLO CORDARA featuring HUGO HEREDIA on flute and tenor sax. Original Italian pressing on GOLDEN RECORD label (FC 1026), from 1973. Super-obscure and desirable Italian Library session by the cult arranger and keyboard player whose most accessible work was comped by the Irma label on his Cordara Orchestra selection and also for the Mo'Plen series. However, this particular EP contains themes that remain uncomped. Arguably, the rarest Cordara EP released just after his fantastic Tipsy / Distensione etc (FC 1025) session. BATTUTA D'ARRESTO is yet another killer theme with the Argentinian jazz supremo giving an afro flavour to eclectic B-boy funk sounds. Lots of bangin' drums / latin percussion / hard hammond / pressed piano / wah wah fuzz and amazing tenor sax by Heredia. The SONATA IN LA MINORE theme is strange pop cum baroque lounge with flute / e-piano / psychedelic touches and an undercurrent of sadness to the arrangement. Beautiful, spaced-out bossa lounge with flute / obsessive bassline and trippy e-piano on CHRISALYS and stylish lounge funk with cool Hugo Heredia sax and hippie-esque / joyous rhythms throughout the jazzy CACTUS theme. Great for DJs. The cool guitars on here were no doubt by Massimo Verardi of Fonit UST 177 infamy (the same guy who played on the Augusto Martelli  Black Sound From White People Lp / Mack Sigis Porter - Peace On You - Italian prog rarity and also Tito Schipa's Orfeo 9 recording). Mood music for an unknown Italian soundtrack / television or radio programme. Seldom comes up for sale. Rare Library EP!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition overall with a few hairlines / paper scuffs from sleeve removal and some faint, old pressing residue marks. Surface noises. Some soft pops / ticks (as you can hear on the soundclip). Item taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. The soft card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition overall with some creasing from storage. Ring dirt marks (mostly all to the blank back sleeve). Some wear to corners. Rare Library EP!!!
