Description
For auction is a gorgeous copy of CARMEN McRAE with the Ray Bryant Trio: "After Glow," on Decca DL 8583. Original issue MONO, DG, 1957.
SOUND: VG++
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Overall, the playback is excellent! For completeness, Side A does have very minor surface noise here and there as well as a few soft tics in a couple spots. Otherwise, excellent. Side B has a single, soft tic. Otherwise, brilliant! Clean, clean, clean!
VINYL: NM
Visually, the vinyl looks fantastic! This 62-year-old vinyl looks practically new! Not a mark on it, other than a couple stray fingerprints smudges. The record has small, black/silver Decca labels in fantastic condition, with deep-grooves. Matrix #'s are stamped: MG5624T2 // MG5625T1.
COVER: VG++
The cover is beautiful! Edges and spine are solid and straight, with virtually no wear. The corners are relatively sharp. The front and back covers are clean and unmarked, with minimal wear or aging. As well, there is an original insert included, in fantastic condition, featuring other Decca releases. See pics.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
A gorgeous record! No reserve, bidding starts at $20.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
