Long held in high esteem by TAS as the Carmina, this box set features Stokowski at the helm of the Houston Symphony Orchestra and Houston Chorale.
To say that it is a thrilling performance is an understatement, as its drive is relentless and the audio capture quite stunning. Frankly, it is as natural a sound as you will hear on records.
Box of this edition is without fault, all of the corners intact. Inside, the heavy-platter, side-logo FDS original should play near mint, as both surfaces are very clean indeed. Finest copy, in fact, I have ever seen.
A rare classic, that also happens to be a definitive performance with incredible sound. Among the very best, in my view, bar none.
Not to be missed.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
