CASEY AND HIS GROUP: Comin' Home Baby/Snaggle Puss (Polydor 2050 126, HOLLAND 1970)
Hands down this is the BEST version of this old Tucker/Dorough composed jazz standard first popularized by Mel Tormé. Casey & His Group (also known as Casey & The Pressure Group) was the band led by famous Dutch organ player Cees “Crazy Casey” Schrama. He was also the one who recorded “The Beast And I”, a great album from 1967, where he was backed up by The Golden Earrings. “Comin' Home Baby” was his BEST 45 and one that will instantly set the dancefloor on fire! The B-s. “Snaggle Puss” is pretty cool too!
