Description
CAT POWER "The Covers Record" LP on Matador Records, 2000. This is the OOP original pressing of Chan Marshall's first stab at releasing a record of strictly interpretations. While subsequent efforts of this nature were more polished and certainly more commercially successful, none of them managed to convey the same sense of longing and vulnerability expressed in this haunting set of stripped-down covers. One would have never foreseen the city-slicker crossover sex symbol of modern-day Chan Marshall in the restrained, skeletal interpretations of "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and "Sea of Love" found here. Both jacket and vinyl are in Near-Mint condition. Jacket cover does have some VERY minor creasing in one corner, but nothing that will keep you up at night.
