Description
Up for auction is a beautiful original pressing of the Cat Stevens album Tea For The Tillerman, originally released in the U.S. on A&M Records (SP 4280) in 1970:
-Guaranteed original pressing, not reissue -Original tan A&M labels -STERLING mastering stamp in both deadwax -LH Lee Hulko mastering stamp in deadwax -Still in opened factory shrink wrap -Original date-correct A&M inner sleeve -No UPC/bar code on cover -NOT record club pressing like many on ebay -Keeper collector's copy
Note: Only original pressings of this album have the LH/STERLING mastering marks in the deadwax. Recordings mastered by Lee Hulko were known for their superior sound quality.
Condition: Cover is in beautiful condition, nicely protected by the original shrink wrap. No ring wear, no seam splits. Just a tiny bit of rub to the open corners on right side top and bottom. Also, a small spot of rubbing on back top edge left side, but not significant. Shrink is still in great shape, no tears, still nice and shiny. Overall, a great original copy! Grade: Near Mint Minus (NM-)
Vinyl is also beautiful, still has its original shine. No apparent scratches or scuffs, just some faint superficial signs of having been taken out of paper inner sleeve a couple times. Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes. Looks like this record has maybe been played once previously but handled with care. Nicely preserved! Grade Near Mint (NM)
